My Past (Two) Week(s) According to Instagram

So I think next week I shall be posting these Instagram posts on a Monday.  It is just easier for me and I am more likely to get them out on time as opposed to every other week like I've been doing lately.

Last weekend was a pretty good time.  A group of friends and I went to the Renaissance Faire for their pyrate weekend.  I was thusly bitten by the Faire bug.  I've always loved it there ever since my first trip in school.

1. Sally Hansen gel manicure is my new friend.
2. So is apparently foam rollers, even with the crick in my neck.
3. I can't get enough of these shoes.
4. A 1960s neon frock.

5. Keira Knightley was Style Crush followed by Michael Fassbender.
6. I hate when the rubber comes off my heels.
7. Can't get enough Mumford and Sons.
8. More vintage neon.

9-10. It pays to have an inside connection to Jubilee.
11. One simply does not come across Darth Maul's lightsaber and a mask and not put it on.

13-14. Some of my fellow pyrate mates.
15. And a handsome knight.
16. Love this vintage blue floral frock.

17. First time wearing this navy blue hat.
18-19. Finally did a proper outfit shoot again.
20. Black and white with a pop of purple.

21. Close up of the pretty hat.
22. One does not simply wait patiently for their corsets to arrive in the post.
23. In the mood for Robin Hood and Allan A Dale.
24. Sweet plaid skirt.

25. Buttons galore.
26. Finally a new outfit post on the blog.
27. Hand stitched pouch I made for the Ren Faire.

I shall be going again tomorrow with a girlfriend that I went to beauty school with.  I know we are going to have such a grand time flirting and getting into trouble (only the good kind).  I will most likely be attending once a weekend until the season closes in a couple of months.

I shall bid you goodnight for the time being.  It's some Game of Thrones for me and then bed.

My Week According to Instagram

Another week has passed.  And I've actually been a good girl all week when it came to blogging.  Everything came out on time.  I told you, I just have to get back into the routine of things.  And getting a head start by at least having the photos ready certainly helps matters.

I've spent a good portion of my evenings this week with R.  We don't really do too much but lay about and watch films.  But I love his company regardless.  Wednesday we did go out drinking with some of his mates.  Other than that, we've spent our evenings in.

1. Last Saturday's outfit for a cookout at my brother's house.
2. Good hair day that didn't last long thanks to the humidity.
3. There's a ladybug pin on my hat!
4. 1850 dream house for sale about 10 minutes from where I live.

5. I want a man to throw me around on the dance floor like this.
6. Finally did my huge pile of hand washing.
7. Monday's outfit.
8. Too hot and lazy to wear my hair down.

9. Shared this outfit post on IG.
10. Sent out some letters to my penpals.
11. Wednesday's flapper-ish outfit.
12. My old timey camera mobile cover came in the post!

13. Robert Taylor was this weeks Style Crush.
14. Shared this post via IG.
15. Made myself a tasty cocktail Friday night.

Today I'll drive my mum to church, as she has recently broken her leg.  Afterwards we will head back to her house for food and games.  She said she's planning on making chicken kabobs with cheesy potatoes for dinner and apple crisp for dessert.  She sure knows the way to my heart: chicken and potatoes.  It would only be fully complete with s'mores and mint chocolate chip ice cream.  Oh well, can't win them all.  I'll just have to win at Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock and Trivial Pursuit Genius Edition.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and an even better week ahead!

My (Past Two) Week(s) According to Instagram

Be afraid, be very afraid.  This is a heavy picture loaded entry (over 100!) thanks to missing last Sunday's Instagram post and the large volume of photos from WWII Weekend.  I won't go into detail with what happened at the event in this post.  I'll save it for the individual posts for each day.

Now that we've got that out of the way, I've had a few very eventful, full weeks.  At least busier than I'm used to being lately.  As you all know, unless you've been MIA from the blog (like me, sorry!), last weekend was the big WWII event at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA.  I met a very special fella there who I spent some of the week with.

Then on Tuesday I got all four of my wisdom teeth extracted.  No fun, let me tell you, but it could have been a lot worse.  Thankfully I didn't puff up too much and I suppose the pain could have been worse.  It was mostly general discomfort and not being able to sleep correctly.

Wednesday I went to a funeral to support someone very special to me.  It wasn't easy dealing with the pain and everything not even 24 hours post-surgery, but I really wanted to be there for them.

1-4. My outfit two Sunday's ago...or three if you count today.

5. "If the TARDIS is infinite with infinite rooms then maybe we're all in the TARDIS and don't even know it." "Mother of God!" "Maybe our entire universe is one room in the TARDIS." Mind = blown.

20. Friday's outfit for the event.

21. A close up of my hair before the wind and rain ruined it.
22. And of course, backseam stockings were necessary.
23-24. The only good thing about Friday (besides spending the day with my neighbour) was the access to the planes and cars since there weren't many people at the event that day.

111. Lovely couple parting ways at Penn Station.
112. Happy Father's Day!

Thursday was a day of much needed rest with the ice pack on my face most of the day to help ease the pain.  Friday I spent the day with my new fella.  Even though we had kissed and everything in the photoshoot and went out with a group afterwards, this was our official "first date".  We went to Lititz for their Second Friday because the one shoppe owner told me they were having some swing dance event.  That turned into a bust as they only played one song whilst we were there.  But we still had a nice time in each others company walking around the town and peeking in the shoppes.

Saturday we spent the day together again, this time up towards where he lives.  We drove into Philadelphia and he showed me around a bit.  I haven't been in the city for quite some time and since he frequents there often, it was lovely to stroll the streets arm in arm.  We got to explore the USS Olympia which was constructed in 1891.  It was fun to get to see the inside and how beautiful everything still was.  He then took me to a speakeasy for a drink.  It was really neat in there and it fit with our 20s apparel perfectly.

Despite the ups and downs and the craziness of the past two weeks, I wouldn't change a thing because it lead me to where I am now.

How have you all been?  Done anything exciting?

My Week According to Instagram

This week has been a hot one for sure.  Thankfully my mum carried down my two window AC units and put them in for me.  Or else I would be completely wilted.

It's so hard to believe that in one week, even less than one week, WWII Weekend will finally be here.  In case you haven't noticed by the amount I've talked about this- I'm really excited!  My outfits are all planned out all the way down to the accessories and now all I need to do is play the waiting game until Friday.

1-2. Last Sunday's outfit.
3-4. Photoshoot after church.

5. First time shooting a rifle. 75 yards and a bulls-eye, not too bad...

30. Happy Birthday, Marilyn! (1 June 1926)
31. Saturday's feathery outfit.
32. Rita hair turned out better the second time around.

33. The pretty roses in my garden.
34. Since I can't be at Comic Con right now, watching Fanboys will have to do.

Another reason I'm excited for next weekend, besides the obvious, is that my cousin Kathy and her husband Mark are coming down for a wee visit.  And when I say wee, I mean wee.  They are arriving Friday afternoon, going to WWII Saturday, and then heading back to Maine Sunday.  Talk about quite a ride for just a short period of time!  Either way, I'm happy to see her again.

Apparently my sleeping mind is as excited as my waking conscious for WWII Weekend, because Friday night I had a dream about Jay Baruchel in a sailor uniform.  He did play one briefly in Night at the Museum 2: Battle at the Smithsonian so that's where the image came from.  But why it sprung into my unconscious mind, I don't know.  It's certainly got me on a Jay kick though.  I had to watch Fanboys because I'm bummed about missing Comic Con in Philly (Norman Reedus is there!) and then I watched Tropic Thunder.  Jay is just so adorkable.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!
